We’ve thought long and hard about this, but we’ve made the decision: Pedal of Honour will take place on Saturday May 12 in 2018.
We were looking at May 19th and even though it would have been the same day as the FA Cup Final, we figured that wouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Then, Harry met Meghan and decided to have a big ‘ol royal wedding on the 19th too. That was the clincher, even though his Highness isn’t actually taking part in Pedal of Honour (although there’s a standing invite …), but because we think May 12 is a better date anyway.
So there, that’s all you need to know. Except ….
Longer is better
That’s right, this year we’re upping the distance! Pedal of Honour will be 100km in 2018 (62 miles) because “100km” sound waaaay cooler when you’re hitting up friends and family for donations and even better when you’re bragging about it afterwards. Don’t worry though, we’ve thought really hard about this and we’re not just adding in a load of boring miles for the sake of it. Instead, we’re tweaking the route here and there to make it even better than before – and yes, longer. More details soon.
So that’s it for now. Registration will be open soon, so keep a lookout.
